The Galaxy
I cheered on the Los Angeles Galaxy tonight against their hometown rivals Chivas USA. David Beckham isn't officially back with the squad until Monday, but it was nice to see (Becks' teammate and biggest critic recently) Landon Donovan back in the action.
The Galaxy thankfully won 1-0, and apparently Becks and his guest, (soccer god!) Zinedine Zidane, were in a luxury suite at the stadium watching the game.

Nothing But Nets
Today is World Malaria Day. For just $10, you can buy a life-saving, insecticide-treated bed net and help a refugee family. Check out NothingButNets.net for more info.

Art & Sport
1) The Ladies and I checked out the Hammer Museum last night for the opening of the NINE LIVES exhibit. It was a lovely members opening shin-dig, but I wasn't blown away by the exhibit. There were a few cool works in the group show, but nothing that I would rush out to see. (However, a thank you again to Lady Lorelei for the hook-up).
2) David Beckham is officially staying at AC Milan until the end of the Serie A season, and then he'll come back to the Galaxy. Whatever... I really don't care if he comes back to the Galaxy or not. But, he does look cute in the AC Milan kit, and it ain't too shabby seeing him play along all those foxy Italians. Grrrrrrr...

LHK's Top 5 Hottest EPL Playaz
The New Year is almost upon us, and this list is long overdue. But, I haven't been as motivated to make it as I was last season. Chelsea has had a weird season so far... And if Chelsea doesn't win a trophy again this season, I'll be soooo bummed. BUT, the eye-candy show MUST go on!
So, here are my picks for the TOP 5 HOTTEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYERS (for the 2008-9 season).
1) JOHN TERRY - Chelsea (No surprise here really since I worship the man)

2) Carlo Cudicini - Chelsea (He's Chelsea's #2 goalkeeper, but THE hottest goalkeeper in the world)

3) Niko Kranjcar - Portsmouth (I may be a little biased towards pretty Croatians; so what?)

4) Roque Santa Cruz - Blackburn Rovers (a little Latin flavour)

5) Lucas Neil - West Ham (a yummy Aussie)

Honorable Mentions:
Alan Smith - Newcastle
Peter Halmosi - Hull City
P.S. One of my usual EPL favz, Freddie Ljungberg, has left the EPL for America and is coming to play for the new MLS team in Seattle. So, as I've mentioned before, I can't wait to see him and Becks play on the same field when Seattle comes to L.A.
Anywhoo, feel free to compare this list to last year's picks, and let me know what you think. As always, I'd love to hear about your favz too!

LHK Sporting News

1) Robby Ginepri lost in the third round of the Pilot Pen today; just one day before the tourney starts airing on TV; ARGH!!!!
2) England narrowly tied the Czech Republic 2-2 today in a pre-World-Cup qualification warm-up match.
The only positive today really was this shirtless pic of Becks:

MLS All-Stars
The MLS All-Stars (including Sweet Cheeks David Beckham) will be taking on West Ham United of the English Premier League tonight. I'm not sure if FOXY Freddie Ljungberg, who plays for West Ham, will also be on the pitch. But, if he does play, it should make for quite a pretty game. The MLS All-Star game airs on ESPN at 4pm PST.

Oh Lawd!
Check out Sweet Cheeks Becks in the new Emporio Armani summer ad; MEYOWZA!
In other, err, soccer news, the quarterfinals of Euro 2008 start today with Germany taking on Portugal (live on ESPN at 11:30am PST). Although there are 3 Chelsea players on the Portugeezer squad (along with Chelsea's soon to be manager, Scolari), I just can't root for Portugal because they also have that damn gypsy, Cristiano Ronaldo (boo! spit! boo!). I guess I'll be rooting for Germany (and their Chelsea player, Michael Ballack).

1) England takes on France today in an international friendly. David Beckham will earn his 100th cap for England in the game (yay!), but Rio Ferdinand will be given the captain's armband in place of John Terry (BOO!).
2) The Sony Ericsson Open starts in Miami (pronounced Mee-jamy) this week. Marat Safin meets qualifier Bobby Reynolds in the first round (potential yay!), but unfortunately Robby Ginepri won't be in the tournament due to a bicep injury he sustained in Indian Wells (boo!). Ahh, those guns... Get well soon, Robby!
