Exit Through The Gift Shop
Just saw this flick tonight. It's more a movie about Thierry Guetta (aka Mr. Brainwash) than Banksy. But, it's still worth seeing, especially if you're into the street art scene. I also LOVED the use(s) of Richard Hawley's "Tonight the Street are Ours"; the perfect late night graffiti song!

Anglophilia
My anglophilia is really flaring up strong these days. I finally finished reading a book called The Anglo Files: A Field Guide to the British
Finally, my pals and I are getting together tonight to watch some british comedy shows (and of course FA Cup games are on this weekend)!
I just watched an amazing movie that I highly recommend called This is England
I'm currently reading a book about Chelsea FC's first black first-team player called Black and Blue

Movie Update

I saw THE DAMNED UNITED tonight, and I really enjoyed it (and not just because I'm a sucker for soccer/football flicks). Both the movie and Michael Sheen were excellent!

Movie Update
My pals and I caught THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE tonight, and it was surprisingly good. As a Vogue reader, the glimpse into how the biggest issue of the year is put together was quite fascinating.
The movie's soundtrack was also fun, and there were even tennis references! It was delightful.

Harry's Potter!
The crew and I continued our years-long tradition of seeing every Harry Potter movie together when we caught HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE today.
I, of course, really liked it, and I knew I would. It's a whole other world and series that I enjoy immensely!

Saturday Movie Review

I saw BRUNO mit Billy and RD today, and it was crazy and hilarious as expected! Sacha Baron Cohen is ridiculous, and be forewarned that this movie is WAY raunchier than Borat.

Sunday Movie Review
The ladies and I saw a matinee of CHERI today. Overall, it was pretty good (nothing to rush out to), but the set design, costumes and Rupert Friend were just delicious!

Friday Movie Review

The crew and I saw PUBLIC ENEMIES today. I wasn't expecting much, as I'm not a big gangster movie fan. But, I'll see anything that Johnny Depp is in, and he did not disappoint! He's wonderful as per usual.
Overall, the movie was beautifully shot in high def digital, and I enjoyed the soundtrack. But, the movie was a little long for my taste, and some of the performances weren't that appealing (e.g. Christian Bale). However, Marion Cotillard was very good, except for her distracting French/Midwest/Navajo/Challenged accent.
I'd recommend the flick for the sole reason of seeing Johnny Depp on the big screen.

Bill, Raff and I saw THE PROPOSAL today. It's nothing to rush out to, but it was definitely cute as expected.

Sunday Movie Review
The gang and I caught THE HANGOVER today, and it did not disappoint. It was very funny, and I loved all three of the leads in it. I already knew I would like Ed Helms since he's on The Office. Bradley Cooper provided some very yummy and shirtless eye-candy, and Zach Galifianakis was so out there and hilarious.
And, among other surprise cameos, there was even an appearance by THE DAN BAND!
As cliche as it sounds, there were non-stop laughs, and I want to see it again!

Movie Update
I forgot to mention that I went to a screening of AWAY WE GO earlier in May, starring the adorable John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph. Now, you know I'd see probably anything that John Krasinki is in, and I was very excited to see this flick based on the charming trailers.
But, even though there were some great smaller roles and tender and funny moments in it, I wasn't very impressed with the movie overall. It was a tad boring, and I'm not sure I liked Maya Rudolph in the lead. And although I usually like Alexi Murdoch, his soundtrack didn't blow me away either.
I guess I'm not doing a good job of explaining, but there just was a handful of elements that have already been done. Too bad 'cause I really wanted to like it.

Sunday Movie(s) Review
It was a double movie day for me today.
This morning, Bill and I saw ANGELS AND DEMONS. Like the book, it was pretty good (if not a bit melodramatic and predictable). And, Ewan McGregor is in it....as a (yummy) priest! Don't worry, I already have a one way ticket to hell.
Then, this evening, Dr. Lee and I finally saw RUDO Y CURSI. I was dying to see this movie because a) it's soccer-related and b) it stars the foxy boys from Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN. So, for the two reasons I just listed, I OF COURSE liked the movie.
Overall, I can't complain; it was a good movie day.

Saturday Movie Review
Bill, Raff (aka Mom) and I caught STAR TREK this afternoon, and although it wasn't on my must-see list for the summer movie season, I actually quite enjoyed it.

The actor who plays Spock, Zachary Quinto, was really appealing to me. I know he's on HEROES and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he also played Tori Spelling's Persian American gay side-kick on SO NoTORIous as well.

Another nice surprise was the actor who plays Dr. McCoy, Karl Urban. I recognized him from the BOURNE franchise and just read that he was also in the LORD OF THE RINGS franchise.
So overall and thanks to some cuties, the movie exceeded my expectations.

Sunday Movie Review
The crew and I went to see the first blockbuster of the summer today: X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It was pretty much what I expected: a fun popcorn action movie with eye-candy!
Hugh Jackman was so buff and delicious, and a beefy Ryan Reynolds was a nice surprise too.
