I know there are more important things in the world, but...

1) Marat Safin takes on Roger Federer tonight in third-round Aussie Open action. Coverage starts tonight at 8pm PST (which is already tomorrow in Australia) on ESPN2!

2) Lady Sovereign is playing at The Echo in L.A. on Jan. 30th!! She and her DJ, DJ Frampster, always put on an awesome show! Tix are on sale now; I already gotz mine!

3) There was an upset down under at the Aussie Open today as Venus Williams was beaten by 20-year-old Carla Suarez Navarro. Vamos, Lady; well done!

Marat Safin and Roger Federer are set to meet in the third round of the Australia Open, a re-match of their EPIC 2005 semi-final! I can't wait! Vamos, Marat!

1) Robby Ginepri unfortunately lost in the first round to Tomas Berdych. But, Gineps is still in the tourney on the dubz side, partnering with none other than Vince Spadea?!?

2) AND, what the hell is going on with Rafa Nadal's tennis ensemble?!?!? His shirt HAS SLEEVES! It's ungodly! Unless his guns are showing in a tight-fitting sleeveless shirt, I almost don't want to watch him play! Are you with me, Lady Lorelei?

The second season of the FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS starts back up tonight (at 10pm on HBO)!! I know the premiere episode has been available online for a little bit now, but I wanted to wait and watch it properly on the premiere night.

This movie looks awful, but it's tennis related. I might rent it.

I love Chelsea FC so SO much, but after today's 3-0 spanking by Manchester United, I've given up almost all hope for the 2008-09 EPL title. In fact, any trophy would be nice for us at this point, but I'm honestly bracing myself for a minor downward spiral.

P.S. The Golden Globes are on NBC tonight. But, due to Chelsea's loss and some other reasons, I'm not sure if I have much energy to watch though...

LHK Tennis Update

Andy Murray beat Andy Roddick today in the Qatar Open (beating Roger Federer along the way in the semis)! Nice work, (Scottish) Andy.

I can't wait for the Australian Open to start! The tournament starts on January 19th, and the early rounds will start airing here in the States on ESPN2 on Jan 18th.

Marat Safin was apparently involved in a brawl (which he won; thank you!) in Moscow recently that left him with 2 black eyes. But, the bruises didn't stop him from flying to Australia to play in the Hopman Cup with his sister, Dinara.

Friday Movie Review

My pals Bill, John and I watched 2 movies today: REVOLUTIONARY ROAD and THE WRESTLER. Although they seem like completely different movies, my review for both is actually one in the same:

The acting, the direction, and the music (the songs not the score) were really great, but overall the movie was really depressing and negative and left me with a headache.
