The BAD NEWS is that (with several injured players out of the starting line-up, including my beloved John Terry) Chelsea lost the Community Shield today to Manchester United. It was a tight game, but Man U ultimately won on horrid penalty kicks.
But the GOOD NEWS is:
1) The team that wins the (pre-season) Community Shield usually doesn't win the English Premier League title.
2) The SETANTA Sports channel is finally offered on the Dish Network! My complaints have finally been addressed. Now, I don't have to switch to DirectTV or miss any Chelsea games (their first of the season will be against Birmingham City on August 12th)!
In tennis news:
1) The adorable John Isner meets Andy Roddick in the final of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic today. I'm hoping Roddick gets upset.
2) The Montreal Masters (aka the Rogers Cup) starts this week. Both Robby Ginepri and Marat Safin are in the tournament. But unfortunately, Robby meets Andy Murray in the first round and Marat meets Robin Soderling (both dangerous opponents). My stress continues...
